TERAPEUTIC TREKKING TOUR & HOT SPRINGS OF CHUSMIZA

We invite you to experience a unique escape into nature, a chance to disconnect from your routine and work life.  You don’t need to be an expert trekker; simply come and explore the pre-Andean desert with its landscapes of Andean flora, fauna, and ravines.  Here, you can also relive an ancestral history in a unique experience: a guided hike alongside llamas, just as they traveled for centuries through Andean villages and later became part of the Qhapaq Ñan, the great Inca road system declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Departure from your accommodation between 7:00 and 8:00 AM (depending on the departure route). Crossing the desert and about 2 hours from Iquique, you can enjoy a pleasant and natural escape to nature in the Chusmiza ravine (3,500 meters above sea level) and its surroundings.

This therapeutic trekking activity is suitable for all audiences and experience levels, where you will find ancestral pukaras, native flora and fauna, open-air hot springs, and plenty of mystical energy that will help you return to the city completely refreshed.

In addition, our four llamas—Kusi, Inti, Phuyu, and Amaru—accompany us on each outing, forming an essential part of this cultural and mindful experience. Each llama is equipped with its traditional Andean saddlebag, where you can comfortably and safely carry water, snacks, your cell phone, sunglasses, or other light personal items.

The activity will conclude with a therapeutic day at the Chusmiza hot springs, where you can enjoy the benefits of its ancient waters, which decades ago were the source of mineral water that quenched the thirst of thousands of northerners.
