ATACAMA GIANT and PINTADOS GEOGLYPHS TOUR - ROCK ART ROUTE

We invite you to relive with us the impressive caravan routes of the pre-Hispanic and ancestral cultures in their nomadic lifestyle, and you will discover the secrets kept in their language written in ancient times, for this we will visit the Geoglyphs Park of Pintados, famous for its great quantity of rock art and the largest Geoglyph in the world in human figure, we refer to the great Giant of Tarapacá or Atacama.

Interesting experience visiting the most important Geoglyphs of the zone.  Departure at 08:30 hrs, to visit the Atacama Giant Geoglyph, the world’s largest Geoglyph on human figure (3.956 ft. o.s.l.).  Then visit the towns of Huara and Tamarugal National Reserve to have Box Lunch in a picnic area in the middle of the Tamarugos Trees.  In the place we will visit the CEDAM of CONAF “Center of Environmental Education of the Tamarugal”.   

We continue south, to cross the dry Salt Pintados, and have a panoramic view of the Geoglyphs of Pintados, witnessing the highest concentration of world’s Geoglyphs, more than 300 figures of Geometric, Anthropomorphic and Geomorphic type, dating from 900 to 1300 years ago (Pre-Columbian Cultures), located in thematic panels on the slopes of the Coastal Range.  Return to Iquique
