You will live the experience of a trip to the past, visiting real ghost towns, in the most Western style and then you will immerse yourself in pre-Columbian cultures by visiting the largest concentration of rock art in the world. Historical and archeology tour. Hot and dry climate.
Departure at 08:30 am, to the former Humberstone and Santa Laura Saltpeter ghost towns (UNESCO World Heritage), to learn about their industrial machinery, where nitrate was made to be exported to Europe and the USA. Its dusty streets and ruins such as the market, grocery store, theater, school and more.
Route to the south to have Box lunch in the Tamarugal Reserve and visit the CEDAM (Environmental Education Center), of CONAF. Where the entire ecosystem of the Reserve is exposed.
Then we will visit the Geoglyphs of Pintados Park, which is the largest concentration of Geoglyphs in the world, more than 300 geomorphic, anthropomorphic and geometric figures located in thematic panels on the slope of the Coastal Range Hills, dating from between 900 1,300 years ago. Where we will cross the immense “dry Salt Flat of Pintados” to admire the Geoglyphs. Arrival in Iquique at 6:30 p.m.
